Marble Vein Foil Fabric combines a smooth, silky 100% polyamide woven base with a marble-vein metallic foil pattern. Made in South Korea, it is 100 GSM and 150 cm wide, with opaque coverage, fluid drape and no stretch. The vein-inspired metallic lines create a directional decorative surface for abayas, evening dresses, blouses, skirts and statement panels.

Because the foil pattern has visible direction and placement, treat it as a designed surface rather than a plain solid when laying out garment pieces. Review the full-width images and a physical swatch before cutting, especially for symmetrical fronts, matching panels or colour-critical production. Metallic finishes can also look different under studio, daylight and event lighting.

  • Composition: 100% silky polyamide
  • Weight: 100 GSM — lightweight
  • Width: 150 cm
  • Structure: woven, non-stretch
  • Coverage: opaque
  • Drape: fluid
  • Finish: marble-vein metallic foil print
  • Origin: South Korea
  • Sold by: meter, swatch or wholesale

Test stitching and pressing on a swatch first, keep the vein direction consistent where required, and avoid direct high heat or abrasive handling on the metallic face.

Quick answers

What buyers ask before ordering

What makes the Marble Vein Foil design distinctive?

The surface uses vein-inspired metallic foil lines over a smooth silky woven base, creating a more directional decorative effect than a plain metallic fabric. The pattern becomes more or less pronounced as folds catch the light.

Is the marble-vein pattern woven into the fabric?

No. The metallic design is a surface foil effect on a 100% polyamide woven base, rather than a raised motif created by jacquard weaving.

Is it suitable for an abaya?

Yes. At 100 GSM with fluid drape and opaque coverage, it can work well for flowing abayas, open abayas and statement panels where a lightweight metallic pattern is desired.

Can I use it for evening dresses, blouses and skirts?

Yes. Its lightweight woven body suits fluid dresses, blouses and skirts. Designs needing strong tailoring or rigid structure may require support or a different fabric.

Does the fabric stretch?

No. It is a non-stretch woven fabric, so fitted garments should be drafted with appropriate ease and closures instead of relying on stretch.

Is it opaque enough for modestwear?

The product is specified as opaque in normal wear. Very light colourways can still behave differently under strong direct backlighting, so a swatch is recommended when coverage is critical.

How should I position the vein pattern when cutting?

Treat the metallic veins as a directional surface. Decide whether adjoining pieces should align or intentionally contrast, then keep the chosen direction consistent across the main garment panels.

Why do the 100 GSM weight and 150 cm width matter?

The 100 GSM weight keeps the fabric light and fluid, while the 150 cm width provides useful cutting room for dresses, skirts, abayas and wider modestwear panels.

How will the marble-vein foil look in photography or event lighting?

The metallic lines change in visibility with folds, camera angle and light direction. If the garment is being developed for a campaign or event, test a swatch under the intended lighting before production.

Is the foil surface difficult to sew?

It sews like a lightweight silky woven, but test needle size, stitch tension and pressing first. Avoid unnecessary repeated puncturing or unpicking through prominent foil areas.

Can the metallic veins wear over time?

Surface foil finishes can gradually change with repeated abrasion, harsh laundering or high heat. Gentle handling and the listed care guidance help preserve the appearance.

How should I press the fabric?

Avoid direct high heat on the foil face. Press from the reverse where possible, use a pressing cloth and test on a swatch before working on the finished garment.

What is the difference between Formal Black and Golden Black in this product?

They are distinct colourways with different overall metallic/base appearances. Because dark metallic colours can shift noticeably under different light, compare physical swatches if the exact black-to-gold balance matters for your design.

Will repeat orders match exactly?

Small dye and foil variations can occur between production batches. For matching panels or a coordinated collection, order the expected quantity together or compare a current swatch before reordering.

When should I choose another fabric instead?

Choose a stretch knit for bodycon or active garments, a heavier metallic jacquard for structured tailoring, or a breathable natural-fibre fabric for hot-weather everyday basics where metallic surface decoration is not required.

Fabric care

Before cutting or sewing this foil-printed silky fabric, test a swatch for washing, pressing, seam handling and foil durability. The matte foil surface can react to heat and friction, so confirm the safest settings before production.

  • Test first Test a swatch before washing, pressing or cutting the full fabric.
  • Needle Use a fine 70/10 or 80/12 needle and test stitch length and tension to avoid marking the foil surface.
  • Wash Hand wash cold, max 30°C, or dry clean.
  • Dry Do not tumble dry. Air dry in shade.
  • Iron Iron only from the reverse side on low heat with a pressing cloth.
  • Cutting Let the fabric relax flat before cutting, and handle gently to avoid scuffing the foil print.

General care guidance only. Results may vary by colour, foil finish, heat and handling.

Fabric comparison
Compare to Plain satin

Satin gives a smooth continuous sheen, while this fabric adds directional marble-vein metallic lines over a lightweight woven base.

This fabric is better when

  • The vein pattern adds visual movement and placement interest across panels.
  • It creates a statement surface without heavy embellishment.

Plain satin is better when

  • Choose satin when you want uninterrupted glossy shine with no surface foil pattern.
Best choice: Choose Marble Vein Foil for directional metallic pattern and satin for a smooth uniform sheen.
Compare to Marble Effect Foil

Both are lightweight marble-inspired foil fabrics, but the visual treatment shown on each listing is different.

This fabric is better when

  • Choose Marble Vein Foil when line-led vein placement supports the garment design.

Marble Effect Foil is better when

  • Choose Marble Effect Foil when the broader irregular marble surface shown in that listing better suits the concept.
Best choice: Compare product images or swatches and select the marble treatment that works best with your pattern placement.
Compare to Metallic jacquard

Metallic jacquard forms its decorative effect through woven structure, while this fabric uses a foil surface on a lightweight woven base.

This fabric is better when

  • At 100 GSM this fabric is lighter and more fluid than many structured metallic jacquards.
  • The vein effect is suited to flowing statement garments and panels.

Metallic jacquard is better when

  • Choose metallic jacquard when you need woven-in texture, body or a more structured tailored silhouette.
Best choice: Choose Marble Vein Foil for lightweight directional shine and metallic jacquard for woven texture and structure.
