Most asked questions

These are the key questions customers usually ask before ordering fabric online.

Can I return fabric that was cut by the meter?

Fabric sold by the meter is normally cut specifically for your order. Once cut fabric has been fulfilled, dispatched, shipped, or handed over to the carrier, it cannot normally be returned, exchanged, or refunded for change of mind.

This does not affect your rights if the fabric is confirmed to be damaged, defective, incorrect, or not as described.

Should I order a fabric swatch before buying meters?

Yes, we strongly recommend ordering a swatch first if colour, texture, shine, stretch, weight, transparency, or drape is important for your project.

A swatch helps you see and feel the fabric in your own lighting before purchasing a larger quantity.

Will the fabric colour look exactly the same in real life?

We work carefully to photograph and describe fabrics accurately. However, fabric colour can appear different depending on phone screens, monitor settings, lighting, camera exposure, fabric shine, and the environment where the fabric is viewed.

For bridalwear, eveningwear, abayas, scarves, modest fashion, or production orders, we recommend ordering a swatch first.

Will my fabric arrive in one continuous cut?

We try to prepare fabric in one continuous cut whenever possible. However, for larger quantities, limited stock, remaining roll ends, wholesale quantities, or fabric availability limits, a single continuous cut may not always be possible.

If your project requires one uninterrupted length, please contact us before ordering so we can check the roll and confirm availability.

Orders

Ordering fabric by the meter

Helpful answers for ordering fabric lengths, swatches, and project quantities online.

How do I order fabric by the meter?

Choose the fabric you like, select the available colour or variant, enter the quantity in meters, and add it to your cart.

The quantity you enter is the length prepared for your order where stock and cutting conditions allow. For example, if you select 3 meters, we prepare 3 meters of that fabric.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

Minimum quantities may vary depending on the product, fabric type, stock condition, and whether the order is retail or wholesale.

If a product has a minimum quantity, it will usually be shown on the product page or controlled at checkout.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your order, shipping address, quantity, colour, or fabric selection.

Changes are only possible before the order is fulfilled, dispatched, shipped, or handed over to the carrier.

Can I cancel my order?

You may request to cancel your order at any time before the item or order is fulfilled.

Once an item or order has been fulfilled, dispatched, shipped, or handed over to the carrier, it can no longer be cancelled.

What happens if a fabric becomes unavailable after I order?

Fabric stock can move quickly, especially for limited, seasonal, or wholesale fabrics. If an ordered item becomes unavailable, we may contact you to discuss a replacement, partial fulfilment, waiting option, cancellation, or refund.

Swatches & colour

Swatches, colour and appearance

Important answers for customers who care about exact shade, shine, drape, texture, stretch, and transparency.

What is a fabric swatch?

A fabric swatch is a small sample of fabric that helps you check the colour, texture, shine, weight, transparency, stretch, and drape before ordering a larger quantity.

What should I check when I receive a swatch?

Check the colour in natural daylight and indoor lighting. Then review the feel, weight, stretch, transparency, shine, drape, texture, and whether it suits your project.

If you plan to line, layer, pleat, embroider, print, steam, wash, or sew the fabric in a specific way, test the swatch first.

Can you help me match a colour?

Yes. You can send us the product link, desired colour family, photos, and project details. We can guide you based on available stock and product information.

Please remember that photos can also vary because of lighting and camera settings. For the most reliable result, order a swatch where available.

Can the same fabric colour vary between batches?

Yes. Fabric colours can vary slightly between dye lots, production batches, and restocks. This is normal in textiles.

If you need fabric for one garment set, bridal party, uniform set, or production run, we recommend ordering the required quantity at the same time whenever possible.

Fabric guidance

Choosing the right fabric

Helpful answers for modest fashion customers, designers, tailors, boutiques, and first-time fabric buyers.

How do I choose the right fabric for a dress, abaya, scarf, or bridal project?

Start with the look and function you need. For a flowing garment, look for soft drape. For structure, choose a fabric with more body. For scarves or overlays, consider softness, transparency, and weight. For bridal or eveningwear, shine, texture, and movement are often important.

If you are unsure, contact us with your project type, colour preference, quantity, deadline, and whether you need stretch, opacity, drape, shine, or structure.

What do GSM and fabric width mean?

GSM means grams per square meter. It gives an idea of fabric weight. Lower GSM usually feels lighter, while higher GSM usually feels heavier or more structured.

Fabric width tells you how wide the fabric is from side to side. Width affects how many meters you may need for your project.

What do drape, stretch, opacity, and transparency mean?

Drape describes how a fabric falls and moves. Stretch describes how much it expands and recovers. Opacity means how much the fabric blocks visibility, while transparency means how see-through it may be.

These details matter because chiffon, satin, crepe, jacquard, jersey, mesh, lace, and lining fabrics can behave very differently.

How many meters of fabric do I need?

The required quantity depends on the garment type, size, fabric width, pattern layout, sleeve length, fullness, lining, layering, and whether the fabric has a direction, border, motif, or repeat.

Ask your tailor or pattern maker for the exact amount. For general guidance, contact us with the garment type, size, design, and fabric width.

Do I need lining for my fabric?

You may need lining if the fabric is transparent, lightweight, delicate, scratchy, clingy, or if the garment requires more coverage, structure, comfort, or a smoother finish.

For modest fashion, abayas, bridalwear, and eveningwear, lining can improve opacity and the final look.

Shipping

Shipping, delivery and customs

What to know before ordering fabric from Türkiye to international destinations.

Where does HIBA FABRICS ship?

We ship fabric orders to Türkiye and many international destinations, including Europe, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other eligible destinations where courier service is available.

Do you offer free shipping?

Türkiye orders may qualify for free shipping over TL 750. International orders may qualify for free shipping over USD $249, depending on eligibility and checkout settings.

Free shipping does not normally include customs duties, VAT, import taxes, brokerage fees, remote-area surcharges, or local charges applied by the destination country or courier.

How long does order processing take?

Most retail fabric and swatch orders are processed within 1–5 business days, depending on order volume, stock availability, cutting requirements, packaging requirements, and peak periods.

Wholesale, roll, bulk, special-order, or large-quantity orders may require additional preparation time.

How long does delivery take after shipment?

Türkiye deliveries may arrive within 1–7 business days after shipment. Many international deliveries may arrive within 4–14 business days after shipment, depending on destination, courier service, customs, and local delivery conditions.

Delivery estimates are not guaranteed unless a guaranteed delivery service is specifically stated at checkout.

Who pays customs duties, VAT, import taxes, and brokerage fees?

International orders may be subject to customs duties, VAT, import taxes, brokerage fees, clearance fees, or other government charges depending on the destination country.

If these charges are not collected at checkout, they may be collected by the courier, customs authority, or local government before delivery. These charges are normally the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law.

Returns

Returns, refunds and cancellations

Clear answers about cut fabric, change-of-mind returns, damaged items, and order cancellations.

What is the return window for eligible returns?

For eligible returns, the return window is 14 days starting from delivery of the last item in the order.

If a cancellation, return, withdrawal, reporting, or refund-related deadline falls on a weekend or public holiday, the deadline is extended to the next business day.

What should I do if my fabric arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or not as described?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order number, clear photos or videos of the issue, and a short explanation.

If we confirm that the wrong item was sent or the product arrived damaged, defective, incorrect, or not as described, we may offer a replacement, store credit, partial refund, full refund, or another appropriate solution depending on the situation and applicable law.

Who pays for return shipping?

For approved change-of-mind returns or other approved returns where HIBA FABRICS is not at fault, the customer is normally responsible for providing and paying for return shipping unless otherwise required by law.

If the return is due to a confirmed error by HIBA FABRICS or a confirmed damaged, defective, incorrect, or not-as-described item, HIBA FABRICS will be responsible for the return shipping cost where required.

Do you charge a restocking fee?

For approved change-of-mind returns or other approved returns where HIBA FABRICS is not at fault, a 10% restocking fee may be deducted from the refund amount where permitted by law.

A restocking fee will not be charged where the return is due to a confirmed error by HIBA FABRICS or a confirmed damaged, defective, incorrect, or not-as-described item.
