Viscose Metallic Jacquard is a Türkiye-made structured woven fabric with a raised metallic motif on a black ground. Its stored composition is 46% rayon, 32% viscose and 22% polyester. At 200 GSM and 150 cm wide, it has opaque coverage, a non-stretch construction and enough body for evening gowns, cocktail dresses, blazers, fitted skirts, blouses and structured abaya panels.

The range includes six designs — Confetti Dot, Basket Weave, Pinstripe, Wavy Stripe, Pebble Dot and Brushstroke. Unlike lightweight surface-foil fabrics, the decorative metallic effect is specified as part of the jacquard construction, giving the fabric woven texture and dimensional pattern. Metallic appearance can still change with abrasion, laundering, pressing and lighting, so a physical swatch is the safest reference for colour, texture and sheen before production.

  • Composition: 46% rayon, 32% viscose, 22% polyester
  • Weight: 200 GSM — midweight
  • Width: 150 cm
  • Structure: woven jacquard, non-stretch
  • Coverage: opaque
  • Finish: raised metallic jacquard
  • Origin: Türkiye
  • Sold by: meter, swatch or wholesale

For sewing, test needle size, stitch length, seam finishing and pressing on a swatch first. Dry cleaning is the safer care direction for structured or fully lined garments; for any alternative care method, follow the stored care guidance and test before treating the finished piece.

Quick answers

What buyers ask before ordering

Is the metallic motif an applied foil layer or part of the jacquard construction?

The product is specified as a metallic jacquard with the decorative effect integrated into the woven structure rather than described as a separate surface foil print. That gives it a different hand and visual depth from lightweight foil-coated fabrics.

Will this 200 GSM jacquard feel too warm for hot-weather wear?

It is a midweight, structured rayon-viscose-polyester blend rather than an airy summer fabric. It is better suited to occasionwear, cooler seasons and climate-controlled events than to very hot, humid daytime wear.

Can the metallic appearance change with wear or cleaning?

Because the effect is part of the woven jacquard rather than an applied foil layer, it has a different wear profile from surface foils. The appearance can still be affected by abrasion, harsh laundering or high heat, so follow the stored care guidance and test a swatch for demanding use.

Is this structured enough for a blazer or fitted skirt?

Yes. At 200 GSM with a structured jacquard weave, it has enough body for blazers, fitted skirts, tailored bodices and other designs that need more shape than a fluid dress fabric.

Do I need to dry clean it?

Dry cleaning is the safer option for structured or fully lined garments. For simpler pieces, follow the stored care guidance and test any home-care method on a swatch before treating the finished garment.

Why should I order a swatch before choosing a metallic jacquard?

Metallic and raised woven textures can look different across screens, camera angles and lighting. A physical swatch lets you judge the actual black ground, metallic contrast, texture, body and drape before buying meterage.

Will a repeat production order match exactly?

Small dye and weaving variations can occur between production batches. If exact matching across garments or motifs is important, order the expected quantity together or compare a current swatch before reordering.

Is the raised metallic jacquard difficult to sew?

It handles like a structured woven jacquard. Test a suitable sharp needle, stitch length, seam finish and pressing method on a swatch first so the raised motif is not unnecessarily snagged or flattened.

How does this fabric photograph under evening or event lighting?

The raised metallic motif catches directional light and can show more dimension than a flat printed metallic surface. Test under your planned flash, studio or venue lighting if photography is central to the collection.

Are the six jacquard designs built on the same black base?

The product groups Confetti Dot, Basket Weave, Pinstripe, Wavy Stripe, Pebble Dot and Brushstroke within the same black-ground fabric family. As with any textile, a physical swatch is the safest reference when exact cross-design matching is required.

Can I use it for an abaya?

Yes, especially for structured statement abayas, panels, cuffs, collars or occasionwear sections. At 200 GSM it has more body than a lightweight flowing abaya fabric, so the intended silhouette should guide how much of the garment uses it.

Will the jacquard fray when cut?

As a woven jacquard, cut edges can fray with handling. Plan an appropriate seam finish such as overlocking, binding or another finish suited to the garment construction.

What if the metallic appearance is different from what I expected on screen?

Metallic surfaces are especially sensitive to lighting and screen settings. Order a swatch before full yardage when colour or sheen is critical, and refer to the store refund policy for the rules that apply to cut fabric.

Does the structured weave resist wrinkling?

It generally has more body than very lightweight fabrics, but wrinkle behaviour still depends on handling and storage. Use the product care guidance and test pressing from the reverse with suitable protection rather than applying direct high heat.

Is this suitable for wholesale production?

Yes. The stored wholesale minimum is 23 metres. Sample the chosen design first to confirm texture, colour, sewing behaviour and metallic appearance, then order the production quantity through the Wholesale option.

Fabric care

Before cutting or sewing this metallic viscose jacquard, test a swatch for washing, pressing, seam handling and finish durability. The raised jacquard motif and metallic surface can react to heat and friction, so confirm the safest settings before production.

  • Test first Test a swatch before washing, pressing or cutting the full fabric.
  • Needle Use a sharp, medium-weight needle and test stitch length and tension to avoid snagging the raised jacquard motif.
  • Wash Dry clean recommended, or hand wash cold, max 30°C, inside out to protect the metallic surface.
  • Dry Do not tumble dry. Air dry flat or on a padded hanger in shade.
  • Iron Press from the reverse side on low heat with a pressing cloth; do not iron the metallic face directly.
  • Cutting Let the fabric relax flat before cutting, and use sharp tools for clean edges given the structured jacquard weave.

General care guidance only. Results may vary by colour, metallic finish, heat, friction and garment construction.

Fabric comparison
Compare to Satin fabric

Satin provides a smooth reflective face and fluid drape, while this fabric uses a raised metallic jacquard surface with more body.

This fabric is better when

  • The 200 GSM jacquard holds structured silhouettes and tailoring more readily than a lightweight fluid satin.
  • Its raised woven motif creates tactile and visual texture rather than one uniform sheen.

Satin fabric is better when

  • Choose satin when the design needs a smoother, more fluid and body-skimming drape.
  • Satin is the better direction when a continuous glossy face is preferred over raised woven texture.
Best choice: Choose this jacquard for structured metallic texture and satin for smooth fluid shine.
Compare to Plain viscose fabric

Plain viscose offers a simpler unpatterned surface and generally softer visual character, while this fabric adds woven metallic motif and structure.

This fabric is better when

  • The metallic jacquard provides a built-in statement surface for occasionwear and tailored pieces.
  • Its 200 GSM construction gives more body for structured silhouettes.

Plain viscose fabric is better when

  • Choose plain viscose when you want an unembellished surface and a softer everyday direction.
  • Plain viscose is preferable when metallic pattern and extra structure are not needed.
Best choice: Choose this jacquard for structured statement pieces and plain viscose for simpler fluid garments.
Compare to Brocade

Brocade is another structured decorative woven option, often chosen for dense or ornate formal patterning.

This fabric is better when

  • This metallic jacquard offers a modern black-ground pattern family across six designs.
  • Its motif options can suit contemporary blazers, skirts, gowns and statement panels.

Brocade is better when

  • Choose brocade when the design calls for a denser, more traditional or highly ornate woven surface.
Best choice: Choose according to the desired pattern density, structure and garment silhouette, and compare swatches when weight or hand is critical.
