Milano Matte Sandwashed Silky Fabric is a South Korea-made lightweight woven fabric in 100% silky polyamide. At 100 GSM and 150 cm wide, it has opaque coverage, fluid drape and a non-stretch construction with a smooth sandwashed surface designed to read matte rather than highly glossy.
The subdued finish makes it useful for abayas, dresses, kaftans, blouses, skirts and relaxed occasionwear where you want silky movement without the stronger reflection of a glossy satin. Its lightweight body supports flowing silhouettes, while designs requiring firm tailoring or substantial structure may need support or a different fabric.

Is it transparent because it is only 100 GSM?
The product is specified as opaque in normal wear. Very pale colourways can still appear different under strong direct backlighting, so a physical swatch is recommended when exact coverage matters.
Does this sandwashed fabric stretch?
No. It is a non-stretch woven fabric. Fitted garments should use suitable ease, darts, seams or closures rather than relying on stretch.
Will the sandwashed appearance stay exactly the same forever?

How is this different from a glossy satin?

How will the matte silky surface photograph?
The low-gloss surface generally shows folds and drape without the strong hotspots associated with a highly reflective satin, but actual appearance still depends on colour, lighting, exposure and camera settings. Test a swatch under your intended lighting for campaign work.
Is this fabric difficult to sew because it is silky?
Smooth lightweight wovens can shift during cutting and sewing. Test a fine sharp needle, stitch tension, seam finish and pressing on a swatch, and use handling techniques suited to slippery fabric if your colourway moves under the presser foot.
Should I pre-wash it before cutting?
Do not assume a single method suits every production. Test the intended care method on a measured swatch first, dry it fully, and compare dimensions and surface appearance before deciding whether to pre-treat full yardage.
Can I use several colours in one boutique collection?

Will a repeat order match the same colour exactly?
