Chiffon Rayon Emprime Fabric
Chiffon Rayon Emprime Fabric is a Türkiye-made 100% rayon printed fabric with a light 100 GSM weight, 145 cm width and soft, airy drape. The surface is printed in Emprime style, giving dressmakers graphic and floral print options without the weight of structured jacquard or satin fabrics.
This lightweight semi-sheer fabric is best used for lined dresses, kaftans, blouses, soft skirts, overlay layers, resort pieces, summer occasionwear and fluid modestwear where movement matters more than structure.
Order a swatch first if opacity, lining, colour matching or production consistency matters. Test washing, steaming, pressing and seam handling before cutting the final garment.

What buyers ask before ordering
Is Chiffon Rayon Emprime suitable for a flowing abaya or kaftan?
Yes as a light printed layer. At 100 GSM with fluid drape and semi-sheer coverage, it works well for flowing abayas, kaftans and dresses when the design includes suitable lining or layering where more coverage is required.
How sheer is this rayon chiffon?
It is specified as semi-sheer rather than opaque. Perceived transparency changes with colour, print density, lighting and the underlayer, so test the exact variant over the intended lining before production.
How does 100% rayon affect the drape?
The stored specification describes a fluid, lightweight woven hand. That makes it useful for soft movement and gathered or layered silhouettes rather than crisp structural shapes.
What does 100 GSM mean for garment design?
100 GSM places it in a lightweight range. It is suited to blouses, overlays, dresses, kaftans and soft layers, while designs needing firm shape or one-layer opacity may require another fabric or added support.
Is 145 cm width practical for dress and abaya cutting?
Yes for many patterns. Actual yield depends on garment size, print direction, gathering and whether motifs need placement or matching, so compare your pattern layout with the 145 cm width before ordering production yardage.
Does this fabric stretch?
No. It is a non-stretch woven fabric, so fitted areas need normal woven-fabric ease, shaping and closures rather than relying on elasticity.
What print directions are available?
The live range includes Bold Abstract Petal Print and Distressed Ink Line Print variants on the same lightweight rayon base.
Which colour combinations are represented in the live range?
The current variants include combinations such as Vanilla Cream–Black, Navy Blue–Cream, Formal Black–Cream and Chocolate Brown–Cream, depending on the selected print design.
Should I plan print placement before cutting?
Yes. Review motif scale and direction before laying out front, back and sleeve pieces, especially when a large petal or line feature should sit intentionally on the garment.
What lining works with this semi-sheer fabric?
Choose lining by the desired opacity, colour effect and drape. A tonal lining gives a more unified result, while a contrast underlayer can emphasize the print; test the combination physically first.
How will the print look in ecommerce photography?
Lightweight semi-sheer prints can look different against white, skin-tone or dark backgrounds. Photograph a swatch over the actual intended underlayer and under the lighting used for your campaign.
What should I test before sewing?
Test a fine sharp needle, seam finish, pressing, motif placement and the intended care method on a swatch. Lightweight rayon can also shift during cutting, so confirm handling before production.
Will repeat orders always match the same colour exactly?
Small differences can occur between production batches. For coordinated garments or wholesale runs, order the expected quantity together or compare a current swatch before reordering.
Is this suitable for boutique or wholesale production?
Yes. Sample the exact print and colourway first to approve transparency, drape, colour and sewing behaviour, then calculate meterage from the 145 cm usable width and your garment pattern.
When should I choose another fabric instead?
Choose an opaque fabric when one-layer coverage is essential, a stretch textile for bodycon silhouettes, or a crisper woven when the garment needs pronounced structure rather than lightweight fluid movement.

Before cutting or sewing this lightweight rayon chiffon emprime, test a swatch for washing, steaming, pressing, colour handling and shrinkage. The fabric is airy and semi-sheer, so check opacity, lining and print placement before production.
- Test first Test a small piece before washing, steaming, pressing or cutting the full fabric.
- Opacity Check the selected colourway over the intended lining or underlayer, especially for dress, blouse and overlay styles.
- Wash Use cold gentle handling or dry clean if you want the safest route for the finished garment.
- Dry Do not tumble dry. Air dry gently in shade and avoid strong wringing or twisting.
- Iron Press from the reverse side on low heat with a pressing cloth.
- Cutting Let the fabric relax flat before cutting and use extra care because lightweight chiffon can shift.
General care guidance only. Results may vary by colour, print, steam, water quality, lining and garment construction.
Compare to Polyester chiffon
Both can provide a lightweight sheer look, but this product uses a 100% rayon base and should be chosen by fibre preference, hand and care requirements.
This fabric is better when
- Its stored specification emphasizes fluid drape and a soft rayon hand.
- The printed rayon base suits designers specifically seeking a cellulosic-fibre chiffon rather than polyester.
Polyester chiffon is better when
- Choose a polyester chiffon when that fibre composition and its particular care or performance profile better fit the project.
Compare to Opaque printed rayon
An opaque rayon print provides more direct coverage, while this chiffon is intentionally semi-sheer and lightweight.
This fabric is better when
- The semi-sheer construction creates depth for overlays, sleeves and layered garments.
- Its 100 GSM weight supports lighter, more fluid silhouettes.
Opaque printed rayon is better when
- Choose opaque printed rayon when one-layer coverage and more body are priorities.
Compare to Printed organza
Organza is usually selected for crisp transparent structure, while this product is specified with fluid drape.
This fabric is better when
- Its softer movement suits flowing kaftans, dresses and overlays.
- The rayon base supports a less rigid silhouette.
Printed organza is better when
- Choose organza when crisp volume or sculptural transparent shape is central to the design.
