Textured Polyester Crepe Jacquard Fabric
Textured Polyester Crepe Jacquard Fabric is a Türkiye-made woven fabric combining 97% polyester and 3% elastane. At 159 GSM and 147 cm wide, it has opaque coverage, soft drape and a textured crepe-jacquard surface with slight elastane stretch. The stretch comes from the stored 3% elastane content, so it should not be described as purely mechanical stretch.
The current design family includes Branch, Wheat Leaf and Laurel jacquard directions in Dark Brown, Dark Burgundy and Formal Black colourways. Its midweight body suits dresses, skirts, blouses, tunics and softly shaped occasionwear where you want crepe texture and a small amount of give without the behavior of a true stretch jersey.
- Composition: 97% polyester, 3% elastane
- Weight: 159 GSM — midweight
- Width: 147 cm
- Structure: woven crepe jacquard
- Stretch: slight elastane stretch
- Coverage: opaque
- Drape: soft
- Finish: crepe
- Origin: Türkiye
- Sold by: meter, swatch or wholesale
For fitted or semi-fitted garments, test the actual stretch and recovery of a swatch against your pattern before reducing ease. The 3% elastane adds some give, but this woven fabric should not be treated like a 4-way stretch knit.

What buyers ask before ordering
Is the stretch in this crepe jacquard mechanical or from elastane?
The stored composition is 97% polyester and 3% elastane, so the fabric does contain elastane. The current structured stretch dropdown does not offer a neutral 'slight elastane stretch' option, so use the composition and a physical swatch rather than relying on that label alone.
How much stretch should I expect from 3% elastane?
Expect some give rather than true high-stretch behavior. Exact extension and recovery should be tested on a swatch because this is still a woven crepe jacquard, not a 4-way stretch jersey.
Can I use it for a fitted dress?
Yes for fitted or semi-fitted woven designs if you test the pattern ease against the actual swatch first. Do not remove the amount of ease you would remove for a dedicated stretch knit.
What garments suit the 159 GSM weight?
At 159 GSM it is midweight, making it suitable for dresses, skirts, blouses, tunics and softly shaped occasionwear that need more body than a very light crepe without becoming a heavy tailoring textile.
Is the fabric opaque?
The product is specified as opaque in normal wear. Very strong backlighting can affect perceived coverage, so a swatch is still useful when opacity is critical.
What does the crepe-jacquard texture look like?
The surface combines crepe texture with woven jacquard design directions including Branch, Wheat Leaf and Laurel, giving the fabric more visual and tactile interest than a completely smooth plain crepe.
Which design and colour groups are currently represented?
The live Roll #1 variants include Branch in Dark Brown; Wheat Leaf in Dark Brown and Dark Burgundy; and Laurel in Dark Brown, Dark Burgundy and Formal Black.
Is 147 cm width practical for dresses and skirts?
Yes for many dress, skirt, blouse and tunic layouts. Actual yield depends on garment size, pattern shape and whether the woven motif needs directional placement or matching.
Should I match the jacquard motif at visible seams?
Review the motif before cutting front, back and sleeve pieces. Matching may be desirable on prominent seams, while smaller repeats can sometimes be placed more freely depending on the design.
How does this differ from a smooth polyester crepe?
This product adds a woven jacquard motif and 3% elastane to the crepe surface. Choose a smooth plain crepe when you want a quieter surface without the woven pattern.
Is it suitable for bodycon garments?
Only with careful pattern testing. The 3% elastane gives some ease and comfort, but the fabric is still a woven and does not behave like a highly elastic bodycon jersey.
What should I test before sewing?
Test actual stretch and recovery, needle size, seam finish, pressing and motif placement on a swatch. This is especially important if you plan to reduce pattern ease because of the elastane content.
Will repeat orders match exactly?
Small colour and weaving differences can occur between production batches. For coordinated garments, order the expected quantity together or compare a current swatch before reordering.
Is it suitable for boutique or wholesale production?
Yes. The shared 159 GSM woven base can support coordinated silhouettes across the listed jacquard designs. Sample the selected design and colourways first to approve stretch, texture and sewing response.
When should I choose another fabric instead?
Choose a measured high-stretch knit when elasticity is essential, a plain smooth crepe when you do not want jacquard texture, or a heavier structured textile when the garment needs pronounced tailoring and shape retention.

Before cutting or sewing this textured polyester crepe jacquard, test a swatch for washing, steaming, pressing, stretch recovery and texture response. Polyester crepe is generally stable, but heat and pressure can still affect texture and drape.
- Test first Test washing, steaming, pressing and stretch recovery on a small piece before cutting the full fabric.
- Edges Finish raw edges before pre-washing or extended handling if fraying appears on your test piece.
- Wash Use cold gentle handling or dry clean if you want the safest route for the finished garment.
- Dry Do not tumble dry. Air dry gently in shade and avoid high heat.
- Iron Press from the reverse side with a pressing cloth on low heat.
- Cutting Let the fabric relax flat before cutting, especially for fitted or tailored garments.
General care guidance only. Results may vary by colour, texture, stretch, steam, water quality and garment construction.
Compare to Plain polyester crepe
Plain crepe offers a simpler textured surface, while this product adds woven jacquard motifs and 3% elastane.
This fabric is better when
- The Branch, Wheat Leaf and Laurel designs give built-in woven pattern rather than a plain surface.
- The stored composition includes 3% elastane, adding some give that should be evaluated on a swatch.
Plain polyester crepe is better when
- Choose plain crepe when you want an unpatterned surface for minimal designs, printing or embellishment.
Compare to High-stretch jersey
Stretch jersey is designed for substantially more elasticity, while this product is a woven crepe jacquard containing 3% elastane.
This fabric is better when
- The woven crepe-jacquard structure provides a traditional woven garment hand and patterned surface.
- It suits dresses and separates that need some give without the look and behavior of jersey.
High-stretch jersey is better when
- Choose a measured high-stretch jersey for bodycon garments, dancewear or designs that rely on substantial stretch and recovery.
Compare to Smooth stretch woven
A smooth stretch woven provides give with a cleaner surface, while this fabric combines elastane content with crepe and jacquard texture.
This fabric is better when
- The woven motifs provide visible surface interest without a separate print.
- Crepe texture adds a different visual hand from a flat smooth stretch woven.
Smooth stretch woven is better when
- Choose a smooth stretch woven when a clean, untextured surface is more important than jacquard pattern.
