Metallic Motif Woven Jacquard Fabric
Metallic Motif Woven Jacquard Fabric is an opaque midweight fabric made from 59% rayon, 30% polyester, 8% viscose and 3% elastane. The metallic thread is worked into the raised motif only, so the pattern catches light while the base remains more refined and controlled than full-surface glitter fabric.
At 190 GSM and 142 cm wide, it gives dressmakers a stable woven base for statement garments that need shine in the pattern rather than across the whole cloth. The current motif groups include animal-inspired woven patterns such as leopard and zebra directions, suitable for cocktail dresses, blouses, skirts, light jackets, occasionwear and boutique statement pieces.
Order a swatch first if colour matching, metallic contrast, stretch response, opacity or lining choice is important. For production, test pressing, seam handling and metallic-thread behaviour on a small piece before cutting the final garment.

What buyers ask before ordering
Is the metallic shine all over the fabric?
No. The metallic effect is pattern-only: the metallic thread sits in the raised jacquard motif while the base remains more controlled than a full-surface glitter or shine fabric.
Is this fabric opaque?
Yes. The product metafield lists it as opaque, so it is suitable when a garment needs coverage rather than transparency.
Does this fabric stretch?
It has mechanical stretch from the woven construction and the 3% elastane content, but it should not be treated as a high-stretch fabric. Avoid bodycon, sportswear and designs that depend on strong elastic recovery.
What is this fabric best for?
The stored best-use fields list Abaya, Blouse and Cocktail Dress. It also suits statement skirts, light jackets, occasionwear and boutique pieces where metallic detail should stay in the motif.
Is this a glitter fabric?
No. It should be described as metallic motif jacquard, not all-over glitter. The shimmer is in the woven pattern, not spread across the whole cloth.
Which motif designs are available?
The stored variant design names include Wave, Leopard and Zebra. These are woven metallic motif directions rather than printed surface designs.
Which colors are available?
The stored variant color names include Dark Blue, Formal Black, Dark Brown and Dark Green, depending on the selected Wave, Leopard or Zebra design.
How should I press this fabric?
Use low heat from the reverse side with a pressing cloth and avoid direct high heat on metallic motif areas. Testing on a swatch first is important.
Is it suitable for everyday clothing?
It can be used for polished garments, but the product's avoid-use list excludes heavy abrasion and everyday rough-wear use. It is better for statement garments, occasion pieces and lower-friction areas.
Can I use this for an abaya?
Yes. The meter guide lists 3-5 meters for statement abayas, open abayas and modestwear pieces with pattern-only metallic detail.
How much fabric is suggested for a cocktail dress?
The stored meter guide lists 2.5-4 meters for a cocktail dress, depending on sleeve length, skirt fullness and motif placement.
Can I use it for sleeves, panels or trim?
Yes. The meter guide lists 1-2.5 meters for overlay or detail panels, sleeves, trims and feature sections in boutique garments.
Is it good for warm weather?
The stored season field is Autumn and Winter, so it is positioned more for cooler-season or occasion layering than hot-weather everyday wear.
What should I order before production?
Order a swatch first to check color, motif scale, metallic contrast, opacity, soft drape and how the metallic yarn responds to pressing.
What are the exact fabric specs?
It is 59% rayon, 30% polyester, 8% viscose and 3% elastane, 190 GSM, 142 cm wide, opaque, with a soft textured hand and raised metallic jacquard motif.

Before cutting or sewing this metallic motif woven jacquard, test a swatch for steam, pressing, metallic yarn response and shrinkage. Metallic details are more sensitive to heat, friction and harsh washing than plain woven fabrics.
- Test first Test a small piece before washing, steaming, pressing or cutting the full fabric.
- Metallic finish Avoid heavy rubbing, soaking, high heat and direct iron contact on the metallic motif.
- Wash Dry clean is the safest route. If washing is tested and approved, use cold hand washing only.
- Dry Do not tumble dry. Air dry gently in shade and avoid wringing or twisting.
- Iron Press from the reverse side only, using low heat, light pressure and a pressing cloth.
- Cutting Let the fabric relax flat and allow extra margin for motif placement before cutting.
General care guidance only. Results may vary by metallic yarn, colour, steam, water quality, friction and garment construction.

- More premium for occasionwear surfaces.
Printed Fabric is better when
