Sheer Circle Shimmer Stretch Tulle Fabric pairs a transparent stretch-tulle ground with a reflective circular motif that creates a rhythmic shimmer across the surface. Made in South Korea from 95% polyester and 5% spandex, the fabric weighs 100 GSM, measures 150 cm wide and stretches in four directions while retaining a soft, fluid fall.
The circle pattern gives this tulle a more defined graphic character than an even shimmer finish. Under movement or directional light, individual reflective shapes become more visible, making the fabric useful for cocktail dresses, evening gowns, sheer sleeves, bodice overlays, dancewear and performance pieces where the pattern itself is part of the design. Do the circle motifs stay round when the fabric is stretched?
Under light tension they remain visually recognizable, but stronger stretch can widen the mesh and slightly alter the spacing or shape of the circles. Check the fabric at the actual garment stretch before finalizing fitted panels.
Is the circle pattern obvious from a distance?
The motif reads more clearly when light reflects from the surface or when the tulle is placed over a contrasting base. From farther away it can merge into an overall shimmer, while close viewing reveals the circular repeat.
Which lining colours make the circle effect stand out most?
Contrast generally increases pattern definition, while a tonal lining creates a more blended result. Because each colourway reacts differently, compare the tulle directly over the intended lining before cutting.
Can the circle pattern be used on sleeves and bodice panels?
Yes. The lightweight sheer base works well for sleeves, yokes and overlays, and the 4-way stretch helps with body-following sections. Plan seam placement so the motif looks intentional around highly visible joins.
Will gathering make the circles look too busy?
Gathering compresses the repeat and places more reflective circles in the same visual area, so the effect becomes richer and denser. Test the intended gather ratio if you want to preserve a more open pattern.
Do I need to pattern-match the circles across seams?
Not necessarily for soft draped or gathered styles, but matching can improve the finish on symmetrical bodices or straight panel seams. Allow extra yardage if precise motif placement is part of the design.
Can I rotate pattern pieces in different directions to save fabric?
For some styles that may work, but the reflected pattern can read differently depending on orientation and light. Compare rotated samples first, especially on adjacent panels.
Is 100 GSM suitable for cocktail dresses and evening gowns?
Yes as a lightweight decorative layer. It adds visible surface interest without the bulk of heavier embellished meshes, while a suitable underlayer provides the required coverage and body.
Does four-way stretch mean I can use a non-stretch lining?
You can for loose silhouettes, but a rigid lining will limit stretch in fitted areas. If the design relies on the tulle's elasticity, choose a lining that moves with it.
Are the reflective circles sensitive to heat?
High direct heat can affect surface-finished polyester-spandex fabrics. Press only when necessary from the reverse at low heat, and test any heat-transfer embellishment process on a scrap.
Could jewellery or hook fasteners damage this fabric?
They can catch the open tulle or rub the reflective motif. Keep rough hardware away from high-contact areas and protect the fabric during fittings and storage.
What should I evaluate in a swatch before production?
Check the circle scale over your lining, the appearance at the intended stretch, seam visibility, motif alignment and how the reflective finish responds to your planned pressing and cleaning method.
- Gentle wash Use a short cold hand wash, maximum 30°C, with a mild detergent. Move the fabric through the water gently rather than rubbing the circle finish.
- Drying Do not wring. Support the wet tulle, reshape it lightly and let it air dry flat or well supported away from direct sun.
- Low heat only Avoid ironing the patterned face. When needed, press briefly from the wrong side on the lowest practical setting with a pressing cloth.
- Prevent snagging Store and handle away from sharp hooks, coarse sequins and abrasive trims that can catch the open mesh or mark the reflective circles.
- Test your method Trial wash, steam, seam finishing and any adhesive or embellishment process on a small offcut before working on the garment.
